Every summer, thousands upon thousands of people find themselves moving across the city, state, or country. Even if your current home might not be as hot as other places, you could quickly find yourself sweating your move as soon as you head to the warmer regions of the country. Fortunately, our experienced Arizona moving company has some tips and tricks that can help you prepare for the hot move ahead of you.

Wear Breathable Clothing & Sun Protection

While you’re packing up your clothing, make sure that you leave out some outfits made of cotton or linen. These outfits are more breathable than synthetic fabrics, so they can help keep you cool. You should also make sure that you have a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen to prevent sunburns.

Drink Plenty of Water

Drink water. It cannot be said enough. As you sweat through the packing and loading process, you lose the fluid that your body needs to function properly. Before you know it, you could find yourself feeling dizzy, nauseous, or foggy. To replenish your body and prevent major heat exhaustion, you should have ample water supply available at all times.

Freeze Wet Towels

In Arizona, summer temperatures can reach upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Sometimes the only way to keep cool is by having some wet or frozen towels on hand. You can wear them on your neck to help lower your body’s temperature while you are moving your things in the heat of the afternoon. Though they have products specifically designed for this, your household washrags and hand towels should work just fine!

Get Your AC Going

With all of the chaos that comes with cleaning and preparing your old house for a move, it’s easy to forget preparations in your new home. However, you should always make sure that you turn your utilities on prior to your arrival. If your new home is close by, you should even go to the house and turn the air conditioner on to start the cooling process.

Relax While Professionals Handle It

If all of these tips and tricks have scared you out of moving this summer, you don’t have to delay your relocation. Instead, you can sit back and relax in the air conditioning while our household movers take care of everything from packing and transportation to unpacking and debris removal.
